However, the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance can lead to treatment failures in both animals and humans, posing a significant challenge to the effective prevention and treatment of bacterial infections.<br><br>Furthermore, the use of antimicrobial agents in veterinary medicine is intertwined with the concept of One Health, which recognizes the interconnectedness of animal, human, and environmental health. The misuse and overuse of antibiotics in animals can contribute to the development of resistant bacteria, which can then be transmitted to humans through direct contact, food consumption, or environmental contamination.<br><br>Understanding the drivers of antimicrobial resistance in veterinary medicine is crucial in order to implement effective strategies to mitigate its impact. This encompasses addressing factors such as inappropriate antimicrobial use, lack of regulatory control, and the need for improved diagnostic techniques to facilitate targeted and judicious use of antibiotics.<br><br>Moreover, collaboration between veterinarians, animal health professionals, public health officials, and researchers is essential to develop and promote antimicrobial stewardship
